Our Story
Vehicle To Grid Technology
Vehicle-To-Grid (V2G) technology was invented in 1996 by Professor Kempton at the University of Delaware. He ran several R&D projects with various modified electric vehicles throughout the 2000’s.
In 2010 Nuvve was incorporated and acquired the V2G international tech license that it used in pilot projects across the World. The first commercial service was launched in Denmark in 2016. Nuvve eventually acquired all the rights to V2G patents and then became a public company in 2021.
In 2025, the assets of Fermata Energy were acquired, consolidating the V2G intellectual property of the two market leaders. Nuvve today operates over 700 EV chargers and stationary batteries on three continents.
