Project Overview

grid connected battery systems

The BOSS (Bornholm Smartgrid Secured) project exists to develop and demonstrate an advanced battery energy storage system (BESS) solution on the Danish island of Bornholm. Funded by DTU, the project will demonstrate the largest grid-connected battery energy storage in Denmark, helping to showcase cost-effective, market0based BESS services that will support the country’s energy policy. Since batteries could be a key factor to retiring fossil-fueled power plants, the project marks an important step to a fossil-fuel free energy future.

– Aggregation of 1MW battery as part of existing aggregation of electric vhiecles (EVs) (21 currently = 210kW)

– Provide and operate Nuvve’s vehicle-to-grid (V2G) platform for aggregation, market access, and business models of battery energy storage
– Build a business model for the BESS system
– Support the integration of the BESS system
– Support DTU on WP3 assessing and developing the business and use cases for the system
– Integration of aggregation platform with the converter
