Project LEO (Local Energy Oxfordshire) will demonstrate a neutral “Market Integrator” that provides real-time information to allow a local energy market place to function effectively whilst maintaining network integrity (DSO services). The project will have a variety of plug-in projects (solar, heat networks, smart neighborhoods, micro-grids, EV and transport hubs, new housing developments and large flexible loads) that will demonstrate new models for DER investment.
Nuvve is responsible for aggregating EVs, both unidirectionally and bidirectionally, to provide local flexibility to the network operator and help development local energy markets.

Nissan LEAF (Model Year 2013 and newer) and Nissan e-VN200 can perform bidirectional, V2G charging.
These V2G stations allow your vehicle batteries to act as storage units for renewable energy sources when too much is being produced and allows that energy to be sent back to the grid when renewable energy production is low.

Distribution System Operator (DSO) Services to be trialed with electric vehicles:
1. Flexibility services exchange: helping DSOs procure flexibility to defer network investment, manage outages and congestion on the networks
2. Local capacity exchange: helping lower the cost of connecting new generation to the network by sharing/trading existing capacity rather than reinforcing
3. Off-market trading: enabling peer-to-peer trading between flex operators or within their portfolio
